The PLAY-offs
Glendale Arts is the proud fiscal sponsor of The Music Path (TMP), providing resources and guidance to its Founder/Director Mitch Zelezny and partner Robby Krieger (The Doors). TMP has been implementing pilots for the high-school based PLAY-off program in Glendale since 2018, with the intention to scale nationally. The program provides schools an on-campus studio with emerging artist facilitators, that enable students to form bands and learn, write and rehearse songs for an end-of-the-year “Battle of the Bands” concert.
On The Horizons
Glendale Arts has also partnered with TMP to present the On The Horizon series, designed to support local bands comprised of PLAY-off graduates and/or emerging artists performing original contemporary music. This program provides the venue, with lighting and sound support, and a platform that lets local bands form coalitions that share in promotion and ticket sales. TMP captures these performances with high quality video and photography, accessed free for their promotional needs.
